How to make organic fertilizer ferment more thoroughly during compost production?

The process of compost production is complicated and there are many details to pay attention to. Huaqiang Heavy Industry will briefly introduce how to make organic fertilizer ferment more thoroughly.
I. Selection and preparation of raw materials
(1) Selection of suitable raw materials: Select raw materials that are easy to rot and high in nitrogen, such as crop straw, livestock and poultry manure, kitchen waste, etc. These raw materials can provide a rich source of nutrients for composting fermentation.
(2) Crushing and mixing: During the compost production process, the raw materials should be crushed or cut to increase their surface area, which is conducive to the attachment and decomposition of microorganisms. At the same time, the raw materials should be mixed in a certain proportion to ensure that the carbon-nitrogen ratio (C/N ratio) is between 20:1 and 30:1, which is conducive to the stable fermentation of the compost.

II. Construction of compost
(1) Shape and size of the pile: Construct a pile of appropriate size, usually 1-2 meters wide, 1-1.5 meters high, and no limit on length. Such a shape and size is conducive to ventilation and heat dissipation of the compost.
(2) Ventilation design: Ventilation holes or ventilation ducts are set at the bottom and sides of the pile to ensure that there is sufficient oxygen supply inside the pile to promote aerobic fermentation.
III. Process control
(1) Turning operation: Regular turning with a compost turner or manually is the key to ensuring thorough compost fermentation. The frequency of turning is generally once every 1-2 weeks, which helps prevent overheating inside the pile, anaerobic fermentation and nutrient loss.
(2) Temperature monitoring: Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature of the pile to ensure that it is between 55°C and 70°C. Too high or too low temperatures will affect the fermentation effect of the compost.
(3) Moisture management: Keep the compost moist, but avoid over-humidification. The appropriate moisture content is 50%-60%, which helps the activity of microorganisms.
The above are the main precautions for compost production. If you are interested in organic fertilizer production, compost fermentation, etc., please contact Huaqiang Heavy Industry.
