From Poultry Manure to Commercial Fertilizer: A Equipment-Driven Transformation Journey
The conversion of poultry manure into high-efficiency commercial fertilizer is an industrial pathway reliant on modern equipment to achieve sanitization, stabilization, and commodification. Its core process can be divided into three stages, all precisely controlled by specialized machinery.
Stage One: Pre-processing & Mixing
Fresh poultry manure, characterized by high moisture content and viscosity, is first transferred into a loader feeding hopper for temporary storage and buffering. It is then fed into a chain crusher or half-wet material crusher for pulverization. This effectively cuts fibrous materials like feathers and bedding, breaking up clumps. The processed material is then uniformly mixed with conditioners such as straw powder and microbial inoculants in a double shaft mixer. This creates a loose, homogeneous physical structure ideal for fermentation.
Stage Two: High-Efficiency Aerobic Fermentation
This is the core stage for pathogen elimination and stabilization. The mixed material is spread into fermentation troughs, where it is periodically turned and aerated by a hydraulic trough compost turner or double spiral trough turner. The turner does more than just mix; its crucial function is injecting oxygen into the pile. This maintains a high-temperature (55-65°C) aerobic environment, effectively eliminating pathogens and weed seeds while rapidly decomposing organic matter into stable humus. This process typically lasts 15-25 days.
Stage Three: Granulation & Refinement
The matured compost is screened by a rotary screener machine. The fine powder can be packaged directly as powdered organic fertilizer. If granulation is required, the material is fed into a disc granulator or rotary drum granulator, where it agglomerates into pellets through tumbling motion. The moist pellets then sequentially pass through a dryer and a cooler to achieve moisture control and physical stability. Finally, they are graded by a screening machine, and the qualified pellets are metered and sealed by an automatic packaging machine into bags of commercial organic fertilizer.
This entire equipment system transforms a problematic livestock waste into a standardized, economically valuable, and easy-to-apply product through an industrialized process of crushing, fermenting, and granulating. It achieves a unity of environmental benefit and economic value.
