In organic fertilizer production, the raw materials need to be fermented first. Today, Huaqiang Heavy Industry introduces the common strip composting process.
1. Temperature requirements. The starting temperature should be above 15°C (it can be operated in all seasons and is not affected by the season. Try to ferment indoors or in a greenhouse in winter).
2. Material pile building. When making a pile, it cannot be too small or too short. Too small will affect the fermentation. The height of 1.5 meters to 2 meters, the width of 2 meters, and the length of 2 to 4 meters are better.
3. Turning the pile for ventilation. During the strip composting fermentation process, pay attention to proper oxygen supply and turning the pile (turn it over several times when the temperature rises to 75°C or above), and control the temperature at around 65°C. Too high a temperature will affect the nutrients.

4. Strip composting fermentation is completed. After fermentation is completed, the material is dark brown, and the temperature begins to drop to room temperature, indicating that the fermentation is complete. If there are too many sawdust, wood chips, and rice husk auxiliary materials, the fermentation time should be extended until it is fully decomposed.
5. Ratio. 1.5 tons of raw materials (about 2.5 tons of fresh feces) add 1 kg of fertilizer fermentation agent. The fermentation agent needs to be mixed with rice bran (or bran, corn flour and other substitutes) at a ratio of 1:5, and then evenly sprinkled into the raw material pile and mixed evenly.
Advantages and disadvantages of strip composting: Strip composting occupies a large area; low construction cost, only a flat piece of land is needed, and it can also be hardened; low degree of automation; many types of turning equipment, simple installation and debugging, and low cost.
Comprehensive consideration, the strip composting process is suitable for: pre-treatment of materials that are too sticky, small-scale production, farm-use fertilizer production, poor site conditions or no fixed production site or temporary production.
