November 20, 2025, Sri Lanka | Chicken Manure Resource Utilization Large-Scale Wheel Composting Project

With increasingly stringent environmental regulations in Sri Lanka, poultry manure treatment has become a pressing issue for local businesses. Simple open-air composting not only causes odor pollution but also results in inconsistent fermentation product quality, failing to meet the raw material standards for commercial organic fertilizers. To achieve the harmless and resource-efficient treatment of chicken manure, the client constructed a standardized trough-type aerobic fermentation production line, employing a large-scale wheel composting process and equipped with a waste gas collection and purification system. On-site installation and commissioning were completed on November 20, 2025.

The large-scale wheel composter is ideal for processing large quantities of chicken manure. Compared to chain and spiral composting equipment, this model offers greater processing capacity, higher impact resistance, and a lower failure rate, making it suitable for long-term continuous operation in tropical environments. The equipment utilizes powerful rotary mixing to thoroughly mix chicken manure with auxiliary materials, ensuring uniform heating of the compost pile and guaranteeing sufficient aerobic fermentation. This system produces stable organic feedstock, laying a solid foundation for subsequent granulation and powdered organic fertilizer production. The entire system boasts a high degree of automation, with equipment capable of automatically reciprocating to turn and compost, significantly reducing manual labor.

The project also features a spray-type waste gas treatment system to centrally collect and treat odors generated in the fermentation workshop, effectively reducing emissions while balancing production efficiency and environmental requirements. This robust and easy-to-maintain equipment is adaptable to the operating conditions of overseas factories and can withstand the high temperature and humidity of the rainy season.

Once operational, the project can process large quantities of chicken manure waste from surrounding farms on-site, turning waste into valuable resources. The decomposed organic fertilizer is widely used in the cultivation of local coconuts, fruits, vegetables, and cash crops, effectively improving soil fertility. This project realizes an integrated agricultural model of “livestock manure—high-temperature fermentation—returning to farmland,” serving as a demonstration base for standardized chicken manure organic fertilizer treatment in Sri Lanka.
